Porter Endowment Video Tapes and DVDs

The Porter Endowment currently produces two types of video tapes, and makes these available to educational institutions and individuals. These currently are being copied to DVD, and they will be available in both formats in the future.

Historical tapes/DVDs: Several videos have been produced by Trustee Emerita Mary Bonneville to document the early history of cell biology, especially focussing on the scientists who played key roles in these developments. The following titles are available:

Porter Lecture tapes: Each of the Porter Lectures at the Annual Meeting of the American Society for Cell Biology has been video taped, beginning with the first lecture by Lew Tilney in 1982.

Keith Porter Lectures

These tapes currently are in VHS format, and some of the early ones have been edited and can be borrowed for educational use from the American Society for Cell Biology, at no charge. Return postage will be provided by the borrower. VHS copies of these tapes can also be purchased for educational use from the Endowment for a nominal charge (contact the Endowment by email at leed@peachey.net). An active program is underway to edit the rest of the tapes and to transfer them to DVD, so that they all can be made available.
